Assam University came into existence through Assam (Central) University Act, 1989 (Act. No. XIII). It was  established in 1994,since then  the University is steadily becoming  an excellent centre of learning. The campus, situated in Dargakona, about 20 kms from  Silchar, is set amid sprawling hillocks, a typical landscape in the  North East. The campus  in an area of  600 acres surrounded by lakes and mountains provides  an ideal environment for academic pursuit. .

How To Apply for Admission in Assam University:

You can apply to Assam University under merit category by appearing for AIEEE exam. You can also apply by downloading the application form from the official website and apply for admission.

Note: Separate application form for each department must be used while applying for more than one course.

Application fee of Rs. 100/- (no fees for SC/ST) to be submitted by demand draft on any Nationalized Bank payable at Silchar in favor of Finance Officer, Assam University. Application downloaded from website should be submitted with application fee of Rs.
250/- (Rs. 150/- for SC/ST) by demand draft on any Nationalized Bank payable at Silchar in favor of Finance Officer, Assam University.
