Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science & Higher Education for Women

The institution is founded by Avinashilingam Ayya in 1957. This institution is also popular as Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science & Higher Education for Women. The institution is now named as Avinashilingam Deemed University and is converted into Deemed University in 1988. The University is a member of The Association of Indian Universities (AIU), recognized and funded by University Grant Commission (UGC).
                                                                                                                                                   

Eligibility Criteria: A pass in 10+2 (class XII) or its equivalent examination with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Maths, Physics and Chemistry (45% marks in case of reserved category). Engineering entrance exam of other states and AIEEE marks will be considered for admission

Application or admission Process: Application form and prospectus are available at the office of the Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore-641043 in person on payment of Rs 600/- (by cash) or through post by sending a request to the Registrar along with a demand draft for Rs 650/- (for SC/ST students Rs 300/- by cash in person or Rs 350/- by demand draft through post) payable at Coimbatore in favor of the Registrar, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher education for women.

The residential and non-residential scholarships to Backward Class and Most Backward Class offered by the Government of Tamil Nadu, Government of India Scholarships to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and other scholarships available are listed below:

1. Government of India National Scholarships for Post Matriculation studies for students who possess rank in the qualifying examination.
2. Government of India Adi-Dravida Welfare Residential and Non-Residential Scholarships to students, provided their parents? income is less than Rs.1,00,000/- per annum. Backward Class Scholarships to students whose parents' income is below Rs.50,000/- per annum.

Note : Students will be eligible and recommended for any of these scholarships only if they put in the statutory minimum of attendance for scholarships (i.e 90%) and if they do not participate in undesirable activities.
